The Faculty of Nursing is honored to welcome visiting professors from around the world from numerous prestigious universities and organizations. We have been fortunate to have long-term arrnagements with certain visiting professors. We also routinely host guest lecurtuers who are uanble to stay in Chiang Mai for an extended period of time.

Our faculty and students work closely with visiting professors to collaborate in the advancements in nursing and research.

Teresa Stone, RN, RMN, BA, MHM, PhD, FACMHN (2017-2018)

Dr Teresa Stone is visiting professor at Yamaguchi University, Japan conjoint Professor at the University of Newcastle and University of New England and visiting professor at Wuhan University, China.

Teri is Editor in Chief of Nursing and Health Sciences a premier international journal focusing on the exchange of knowledge in nursing and health sciences, particularly between the East and West.

Marcia A. Petrini, PhD, MPA, RN, FAAN (2016-2017)
 
Dr. Marcia A. Petrini is the founding Dean of the Wuhan University HOPE School of Nursing in China. She has extensive experience teaching at and consulting with multiple universities in China, Japan and other parts of the world. She is routinely invited to be a special consultant for the World Health Organization as well as the International Council of Nurses. She is the recipient of the China Medal of Friendship, the highest honor bestowed upon foreigners.
 
Marcia serves as an honorary reviewer for Journal of Biomusical Engineering & other reputed journals and has authored several articles along with chapters in different books related to Psychology

Kay C. Avant, RN, PhD, FNI, FAAN (2015-2016)
 
Dr. Kay C. Avant is the retired Robert L. and Laura D. Zeller Distinguished Professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She was twice selected as a Fulbright Professor of Nursing Science for posts in Thailand and Norway. She has extensive experience with international and cross cultural teaching and research.
 
Kay is a journal reviewer for several international journals and serves on the editorial board for Acta Paulista de Enfermagen and Pacific Rim International Journal of Nursing Research.
 
Research Expertise
Her primary research interests are in concept and theory development, standardized nursing language, and maternal-infanct interaction and is a recognized expert in her field.

Susan Turale, RN, DEd, FACN (2014-2015)

 
Dr. Susan Turale is a visiting professor for a number of countries in the Asia-Pacific region assisting in capacity building of the profession and health care systems through education, research, and developing scholarship.
 
She is currently the Editor for International Nursing Review, the official journal of the International Council of Nurses and was previously Editor-in-Chief and Editor of the journal Nursing & Health Sciences.
