Bachelor of Nursing Science Program
Overview
The Bachelor of Nursing Science (BNS) program at the Faculty of Nursing, Chiang Mai University is a full-time four-year professional program that prepares a student for a career as a registered nurse. We offer both a Thai and an International program in response to the significant global needs for qualified nurses. Our undergraduate program has both practical and theoretical elements to ensure students are fully prepared for their important role in taking care of patients. They gain practical experience in specialist simulation laboratories on campus before practicing in hospitals, and in the community. Curriculum
The BNS program provides a balance between providing students with a general education foundation and a broad-based core curriculum. General education classes are taken with students from other Faculties on the CMU main campus, while the core professional education classes are taken with nursing students from the health science faculties.
Students will practice nursing skills in clinical laboratories, including simulation labs. Once students have mastered their skills in the clinical labs, they will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through clinical practice at a variety of health care settings and in the community. The program of eight regular semesters and one summer session is typically completed in four years. The period of study shall not exceed eight academic years. The program begins with an orientation in late July and the classes start in early August.
