Piyanut Xuto is an Associate Professor in obstetrics and gynecology nursing at the Faculty of Nursing, Chiang Mai University. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of Nursing, Chiang Mai University. Then she went on to study for a master’s degree in maternal and child nursing and a PhD for the Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol Unversity.

Her on-going research projects include: 1) looking at pregnancy outcome and health care behavior after receiving text messages via smart phone among women during prenatal period in collaboration with Mie University and 2) Z-Size Ladies: the application which has 3 parts; BMI timeline; body simulation; and face simulation to assess women's body size and face in colloboration with the National Electronics and Computer Technology Center. She recently gave a keynote speech on 28 April 2018 “Big Data: Opening the Door of Digital Era in Health Care” for the 2nd International Conference Health Medicine at Manado, North Sulawese Indonesia. In addition, she is an expert lecturer on digital technology in transforming nursing practices especially in maternal and child health.
