     Phanida Juntasopeepun is an assistant professor in fundamental nursing and currently serves as an associate dean for policy, planning, and information technology management at the Faculty of Nursing, Chiang Mai University. As a faculty member with clinical supervision responsibilities, she is responsible for teaching both undergraduate and graduate students, supervising students in clinical settings, and mentoring theses and dissertations.
      She earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the Faculty of Nursing, Chiang Mai University. From 1997 to 2004, she received a scholarship from the Royal Thai Government to study a Master’s Degree in Adult Primary Care Nurse Practitioner at College of Nursing, Wayne State University, and her PhD in Nursing at the College of Nursing, University of Illinois Chicago, USA. Her PhD project focused on increasing awareness of the importance of early breast cancer detection among Thai women.
     Her research is focused on cancer preventive behaviors, cross-cultural care, nursing education, including nursing competence. To promote the HPV (human papillomavirus) vaccination uptake among Thai children and adolescents, she conducted multidisciplinary and internationally collaborative research to explore HPV vaccination acceptance among Thai young adolescents and parents, including developed an instrument to evaluate beliefs regarding HPV infection. She is presently conducting a collaborative research project with Kobe University, Japan to evaluate psychometric properties of the Nurse Competence Scale.
