Undergraduates (BNS program)

Scholarship

A scholarship to cover the cost of tuition is available to students studying in the Bachelor of Nursing program. This scholarship is for students who have financial difficulties. This scholarship is only awarded to students in good academic standing. This scholarship covers the cost of tuition for 1 academic year.

Qualifications:
  1. Student in the FON in the Bachelor of Nursing Science degree program
  2. Proof of financial difficulty
  3. Not a recipient of a scholarship from another source
How to apply:
  1. Applications are accepted annually. Applications must be submitted during the first semester.
  2. Thai students can submit their application through the CMU SIS system. International students must contact the Student Development Office at the Faculty of Nursing to request an application and more details: 053-94-5029. The Student Development Office is located on the first floor of Dormitory 1.

Emergency Loan

An emergency loan for available for students in the Bachelor of Nursing Science program. The maximum loan amount is 2,500 baht. This loan is without interest and the money must be repaid within 3 months.

Qualifications:
  1. Student in the FON in the Bachelor of Nursing Science degree program

Graduate Students (Master and Doctoral programs)

Teaching Assistant/Research Assistant Scholarships

The Chiang Mai University Graduate School has a limited number of Teaching and Research assistantships available each year. These scholarships are awarded to motivated students who demonstrate academic excellence. Students receiving these scholarships will work as either a teaching assistant or a research assistant. Students will be awarded up to 108,000 baht per year or 9,000 baht per month. The scholarship is allocated monthly and TA/RAs are expected to work 6-9 hours a week.

Qualifications:
  1. Student in the FON in master or doctoral degree program
  2. Good grade point average
    1. Master students (GPA of 3.0 for bachelor degree)
    2. Doctoral students (GPA of 3.5 for both bachelor and master degrees)
  3. Good academic standing

Expectations of Scholarship Students:
  1. You must be registered as a student at CMU and maintain your student status
  2. You must maintain a GPA or 3.25 or higher
  3. You must register your thesis or dissertation after 2 semesters of study

If you do not meet the above conditions or you are able to perform the work required of your position the scholarship will be cancelled. You can also lose the scholarship if you are violating any rules as set by the Faculty of Nursing and Chiang Mai University.


Chiang Mai University Doctoral Research Grant

This Chiang Mai University Graduate School is making this grant available to doctoral students to aid them in conducting their research.

Doctoral students are eligible to receive the following amounts based on their course of study:
  • Doctor of Philosophy Program Type 1.1: Thesis only (international): 50,000 baht
  • Doctor of Philosophy Program Type 1.2: Coursework and thesis (international): 75,000 baht
  • Doctor of Philosophy Program Type 2.1: Thesis only (Thai): 35,000 baht
  • Doctor of Philosophy Program Type 2.2: Coursework and thesis(Thai): 45,000 baht
Qualifications:
  1. Registered student in a doctoral program
  2. Not currently taking a leave of absence
  3. Dissertation topic has been approved and you are registered for course 566899 NGNS 899 PhD Thesis
  4. You have not previously received this grant
  5. If you have a research grant from another source, the total amount of the other grant and this grant shall not exceed 100,000 baht

  1. Applications can be submitted during first semester of the academic year around August
  2. Application materials include
    1. Application form
    2. Copy of your dissertation topic approval notification
    3. Copy of your dissertation proposal
    4. Copy of the receipt from registering for course 566899 NGNS 899 PhD Thesis
    5. Copy of any grant approval letters (if applicable)
  3. Apply at the Chiang Mai University Graduate School Office
Grant Conditions:
  1. When publishing your research, you must acknowledge that you are a doctoral student at the Chiang Mai University Faculty of Nursing and thank the Chiang Mai University Graduate School for the funding
  2. By accepting and receiving this grant, you will not be eligible for the following grants at Chiang Mai University:
    1. Research publication grant
    2. Conference grant
    3. Short-term international training grant

Faculty of Nursing Conference Presentation Grant

The grant provides doctoral students with funding to present their research at a conference. Presentations can be oral or poster. Conferences taking place in Thailand and internationally are eligible for this grant. Please note that this is a reimbursement fund. Students must pay all conference expenses first and then submit receipts for reimbursement.

Please note that when students are traveling abroad to attend a conference, they must submit paperwork requesting permission to attend the conference in a foreign country. Students are also responsible for securing their own re-entry permits.

* Note: The grant pays for the actual costs for conference attendance and amounts listed are the maximum amount that can be reimbursed.

  2. Accepted for an oral or poster presentation at a conference
How to apply:
  1. Applications can be accepted at any time.
  2. Application materials include
    1. Application form Por Yor Dor 6 (พ.ย.ด. 6)
    2. Abstract
    3. Proof of abstract acceptance
    4. Conference information such as theme, registration fees, accommodation, etc.
  3. Submit your application at the Academic Services and Student Quality Development Office
Grant Conditions:
  1. Doctoral students can only receive this grant one time during their enrollment at CMU.
  2. Students will only be reimbursed for costs not exceeding the amounts listed above.
  3. This grant can be used to reimburse the following:
    1. Food expenses while traveling to and attending the conference
    2. Accommodations
    3. Registration fees
  4. Grant recipients must submit their receipts and a conference report within 10 days of the final day of the conference. Receipts must be submitted to the Academic Services and Student Quality Development Office.
Reimbursement instructions:
  1. Submit the following:
    1. Receipts for accepted expenses
    2. Copy of the front page of your Siam Commercial Bank account (page with your account number)
  2. Submit reimbursement materials to the Academic Services and Student Quality Development Office

National Research Council of Thailand Research Grant

Master and doctoral students are eligible to receive a grant of up to 300,000 baht to conduct graduate research. All applications must be submitted through the National Research Management System online system.

How to apply:
  1. Consult with your academic advisor.
  2. Applications must be made in conjunction with your academic advisor on the NRC website www.nrms.go.th
