On 23 July 2020, Professor Dr. Wipada Kunaviktikul, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing presided over the 2020 Wai Kru ceremony organized by the Nursing Student Union, Chiang Mai University.The purpose of this ceremony was for all students to pay respect and gratitude to their faculty members before the beginning of the new acedemic year by giving them a pedestal tray made from Ixora Flowers (which while closed form pointed buds, symbolizing sharp wit), Eggplant Flowers (which bow low when nearing fruiting, symbolizing respect and humility), Popped Rice (which symbolizes discipline) and Burmuda Grass (the rapid growth and resilience of which symbolize perseverance and the ability to learn).
