CMU Presidential Scholarship
Chiang Mai University (CMU) offers 200 full graduate scholarships annually, providing an exciting opportunity for high-potential Thai and international students who meet our qualifications to pursue their studies at CMU.
Interested candidates must first be selected for admission before they are eligible to submit a scholarship application. Applications for the scholarship must be submitted during the same semester in which you have been admitted. Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant Scholarships
Chiang Mai University (CMU) allocates a budget to support graduate students working as Teaching Assistants (TA) and Research Assistants (RA). This support is available for applicants in both regular and international Master’s or Doctoral programs that require a thesis or dissertation. The objectives of this financial support are as follows:
- To reduce the workload of faculty members, departments, or affiliated faculties.
- To enhance students' abilities in knowledge sharing and communication.
- To provide students with practical teaching and/or research experience.
- To provide financial assistance.

Thailand International Postgraduate Programme (TIPP)
Thailand International Postgraduate Programme (TIPP) is the scholarship under the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand. Only international students are eligible to apply.
Academic Activity Scholarship
The Graduate School is proud to support and promote CMU's Graduate Students. It provides scholarships to further their studies, publish their research, and to attend training courses and various other forms of academic activities. The budget for these scholarships comes from the Graduate School Income, interest from the Graduate School Fund as well as other sources. These scholarships fall into three broad categories:
- Dissertation/Doctoral work
- Thesis/Master's Degree work
- Independent Study
