     Tareewan Chaiboonruang is an assistant professor of obstetrics and Gynecological Nursing at the Faculty of Nursing, Chiang Mai University. She has over ten years of experience in teaching student nurses and caring for women at the antenatal care clinic, the postpartum ward, and the labor unit. In addition, she was a childbirth educator of the childbirth preparation project at the Faculty of Nursing.  Her research experiences has centered on reproductive and sexual health for females. She continues researching female reproductive health by using both quantitative and qualitative approaches to explore 1) sexual risk behaviors in female workers, 2) student nurses’ competencies in caring for pregnant women, and 3) nurse-midwives’ competencies in caring for pregnant women. In recognition of her professional work, she was awarded an Excellence in Knowledge and Behavior and Nursing Practice Award from the Thailand Nursing Association. She also was awarded to work on the project “Strengthening HIV/AIDS Knowledge and Prevention Program for Student Nurses in Thailand.” She has gained a lot of experience in developing an HIV/AIDS curriculum on knowledge and prevention. Her work has helped to improve nursing and midwifery practice and provide information to inform nursing and midwifery policy in Thailand.
