Dr. Punpilai Sriarporn is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Nursing, Chiang Mai University, where she has developed her expertise in teaching and practice in midwifery for the last thirty-six years. Her devotion to teaching, supervising, and mentoring both undergraduate and graduate students helped her earn numerous awards. Over the years, Dr. Punpilai has held multiple leadership positions at the Faculty of Nursing, such as the Associate Dean for Research and Innovation and the Associate Dean for Human Resources and Knowledge Management. She is currently the chair of midwifery concentration for the MNS Thai program. She obtained her Master’s degree in Maternal and Child Health from the Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University in 1983, and her PhD in Nursing Science from Chiang Mai University in 2007. In 1996, she dedicated her career to advancing her knowledge in the area of Women’s Health as a visiting scholar at the School of Nursing, University of Washington, USA. Throughout her career, she has successfully combined teaching, research, and clinical practice. Her research interests are related to the care of adolescent mothers, postpartum mothers, and fathers, specifically those with depression. Her research has focused on women’s health in reproductive years, both in communities and in prisons. She is also interested in preventing adolescents from engaging in sexual risk behaviors by improving communication between healthcare providers, teachers, and parents.
