Lawitra (Prueksalada) Khiaokham is a Lecturer in obstetrics and gynecology nursing at the Faculty of Nursing, Chiang Mai University. She earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing and Master’s of Nursing Science degree in Midwifery from the Faculty of Nursing, Chiang Mai University. Since 2015, her research projects have been with providing community services for high school and vocational school students. Several projects were collaborative studies with universities from Japan. Her main research areas are in sexually transmitted infections (STI) and pregnancy prevention by using educational programs which are under review. She is currently developing a proposal in order to seek grant support. Her commitments are inspired by giving community service and being familiar with at-risk groups. Her research areas look at the risk-taking behaviors of adolescents and teenage pregnancy. From her perspective, she prefers to work on collaborative research with other countries to compare data in the hopes of finding effective and sustainable solutions.
