Chiang Mai University's Faculty of Nursing Attains Prestigious ACEN Accreditation

Chiang Mai, Thailand - October 13, 2023 - Chiang Mai University's Faculty of Nursing (NurseCMU) is proud to announce that its Bachelor in Nursing Science Program and Master's in Nursing Science have received accreditation from the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). This prestigious accreditation underscores the outstanding educational opportunities provided by our twelve nursing programs, benefitting our students, future employers, and communities alike.

As Asst. Prof. Dr. Thanee Kaewthummanukul, the Dean of the Faculty of Nursing at Chiang Mai University, enthusiastically expressed, "The ACEN accreditation is a mark of quality, ensuring that our twelve nursing programs, two bachelor's and ten master's degree programs, are meeting the highest standards. We are especially proud that our programs provide excellent educational experiences to our students, their future employers, and our communities. This accreditation is a true testament to NurseCMU's commitment to empowering future nurses with pride and professionalism."

ACEN is the foremost authority for accreditation for nursing education, setting the gold standard for excellence in nursing education nationally and internationally. Securing ACEN accreditation validates that NurseCMU demonstrates clear and appropriate educational outcomes and adheres to established standards and criteria in alignment with the Faculty of Nursing's mission and contemporary and future nursing practices.

The rigorous accreditation process involved meticulous program assessment planning and evaluation carried out by the Department of Nursing and staff under the watchful guidance of ACEN peer experts. This process is an ongoing commitment to enhancing the quality of nursing education. ACEN accreditation assures that current and future nursing students will receive an outstanding education rooted in evidence-based practice. Furthermore, it will enable students to pursue advanced studies, seeking more excellent knowledge to enhance patient outcomes.

The ACEN Board of Commissioners granted accreditation following an Initial Accreditation meeting on January 17, 2022, and this accreditation will remain in effect through Spring 2028 after a comprehensive review process. Chiang Mai University's Faculty of Nursing is honored to have achieved this distinguished recognition and is dedicated to a continued pursuit of excellence in nursing education.
