Eight graduate students from the Faculty of Nursing at Chiang Mai University (NurseCMU) participated in the "2024 Hunan Province Graduate Summer School Project" at the Hunan University of Chinese Medicine in Changsha, China, from July 1st to 15th, 2024.
The summer school project focused on traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) nursing science and related research methodologies. Students took part in various activities, including:
· Campus and University History Museum Tour: Students learned about the rich history of Hunan University of Chinese Medicine and its contributions to TCM education and research.
· Workshops: Hands-on workshops on TCM diet therapy, sachet making, moxibustion intervention, and cognitive neuroscience equipment provided students practical experience in various TCM techniques.
· Seminars and Lectures: Experts in TCM nursing research delivered lectures on electroacupuncture, Mawangdui Daoyin technique, dietary intervention, digital twin technology, and nursing cognitive neuroscience experimental design.
· Cultural Tours: Students experienced the cultural richness of Changsha through visits to the TCM Specimen Museum, Medicinal Plant Garden, Hunan Provincial Museum, and Orange Island.
· Laboratory Visits: Students had the opportunity to tour state-of-the-art laboratories and gain insights into the latest research in TCM nursing.
This unique international experience allowed NurseCMU students to exchange academic knowledge with their peers from other countries and learn about cutting-edge research in TCM nursing. It also fostered cultural exchange and strengthened ties between NurseCMU and the Hunan University of Chinese Medicine.
