Chiang Mai University's Faculty of Nursing Welcomes Delegation from Asahi University, Japan

The Faculty of Nursing at Chiang Mai University (NurseCMU) had the pleasure of welcoming visitors from the Department of Nursing, School of Health Sciences, Asahi University, Japan, on Wednesday, January 10, 2024. The visit was hosted at the Wilawan Senarat Conference Room located on the 2nd floor of Building 4, Faculty of Nursing.

The distinguished faculty members of Chiang Mai University welcomed and engaged in a critical dialogue on academic cooperation with the delegation from Asahi University. Leading the welcome and discussion from Chiang Mai University are: 

  • Asst. Prof. Dr. Jutarat Mesukko, RN, Associate Dean for Research, Innovation, and Global Mission Integration 
  • Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wanpen Songkham, RN, Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies Development 
  • Prof. Dr. Preeyakamon Krikitrat, RN, Assistant Dean for the Integration of Global Missions 

Visitors from Asahi University included:

  • Dr. Jun MIYATA, Chairman of Asahi University 
  • Dr. Katsuyuki OTOMO, President of Asahi University 
  • Dr. Kyoko SUGA, Dean of the Department of Nursing 
  • Ms. Izumi DEN, Head of the International Exchange Program 
  • MBA, Mr. Mario NONKOVIKJ, Communication Officer 

This visit marks an important milestone in the growing relationship between the two institutions. The agenda included discussions on various cooperative initiatives such as student and personnel exchange programs, collaborative research, and organizing activities to exchange academic knowledge. 

The visit of the executive team from Asahi University highlights the commitment of both institutions to fostering international collaboration and enhancing educational and research opportunities. The two-day visit, spanning January 10–11, 2024, signifies a promising step towards future academic partnerships and cultural exchange. 

Chiang Mai University's Faculty of Nursing is excited about this collaboration and looks forward to building a lasting and productive relationship with Asahi University. This visit was a success, and we are eager to see what the future holds for our partnership.
