The Faculty of Nursing at Chiang Mai University (NurseCMU), is hosting a knowledge exchange event for high school and university students from Japan. The event will focus on the critical connection between poverty and planetary health and is scheduled for Friday, March 15, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The event will take place in the 21st Century Room on the 6th floor of Building 2 in the Faculty of Nursing at Chiang Mai University.
The program is a partnership between NurseCMU and Tigermov, a Japanese education start-up. NurseCMU is excited to welcome 13 Japanese high school and university students to this engaging program. The event aims to provide these students with a deep understanding of the impacts of environmental and climate change on health, particularly the growth and welfare of children.
Event Highlights:
- Lecture & Discussion on Climate and Environmental Change: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Patcharee Woragidpoonpol, from the Pediatric Nursing Department, will lead a session exploring how climate and environmental changes currently affect children's health and growth. This discussion highlights the urgent challenges the younger generation faces amidst the climate crisis.
- Mental Health Screening and Treatment Processes: Dr. Hunsa Sethabouppha, from the Psychiatric Nursing Department, tackles the complex processes of mental health screening and treatment. A key focus will be on the effects of poverty on mental health, along with other social issues like drug abuse and HIV/AIDS, particularly concerning Thai children.
- Knowledge Exchange with Thai Nursing Students: This interactive Q&A session allows Japanese participants to engage directly with Thai nursing students. Expected to be a lively exchange of knowledge, experiences, and ideas, this segment aims to foster a more robust understanding and bond between students from the two countries.
