Chiang Mai University’s Faculty of Nursing Welcomes Distinguished Guests from Columbia University’s School of Nursing

The Faculty of Nursing at Chiang Mai University (NurseCMU) is delighted to warmly welcome Assistant Professor Dr. Isper Crissey and Ms. Erica Diehl from the School of Nursing at Columbia University. They are visiting from April 9 to April 10, 2024, as part of an official visit that signifies a significant collaboration between the two institutions to advance nursing education and practice globally.

NurseCMU leaders, Asst. Prof. Dr. Thanee Kaewthummanukul, Dean, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Jutarat Mesukko, Associate Dean for Research, Innovation, and Global Mission Integration, extended their warmest welcome to the group.

As part of the Global Student Clinical Experiences Program, this initiative seeks to enrich nursing students' education by providing them with global exposure and comprehensive learning opportunities. Dr. Crissey and Ms. Diehl are in Chiang Mai to discuss and directly supervise the nursing practice of master's level students, focusing on elevating their learning experiences to meet the rigorous demands of the nursing profession.

Furthermore, during their stay, the Columbia University representatives will oversee the practical training of four students enrolled in the program. These students are currently engaging in an intensive 6-week clinical training at a premier hospital in Chiang Mai province, which commenced on April 1 and will culminate on May 10, 2024. This training is essential for preparing the students to navigate the complexities of the nursing field, emphasizing delivering compassionate and high-quality care.
