1. GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS 

  1. Applicants must have no record of serious misconduct and agree to strictly follow the rules and regulations of the university.
  2. Applicants must not have a serious contagious disease or any disease that will obstruct their studies.
  3. Applicants must be in good health, with no illnesses, symptoms, or disabilities which would be an obstacle to their studies. Applicants with the following illnesses, symptoms, or disabilities are ineligible for admission:
  • Any disability which is an obstacle to study.
  • Severe psychiatric problems including psychotic disorders, autistic spectrum, mood disorders, severe neurotic disorders, personality disorders such as antisocial personality disorders or borderline personality disorders, or other psychiatric problems which are obstacles to study, practice, and work as a professional nurse.
  • Any contagious disease in the transmission phase which can be a danger to yourself, the patients, or cause permanent disability which in turn will be an obstacle to study, practice, and work as a professional nurse.
  • Non-communicable diseases or disorders which are an obstacle to study including:
  • Uncontrolled epilepsy.
  • Severe heart disease which is obstacle to study, practice, and work as a professional nurse.
  • Severe hypertension with permanent complications to any organ.
  • Chronic kidney disease.
  • Substance use disorder.
  • Visual problems including severe color blindness, or having visual acuity in your good eye of less than 6/12 or 20/40 after correction.
  • Sensory neural hearing loss of a hearing threshold above 40 dB at 500-2,000 Hz.
  • Other diseases or disabilities which the physical examination committee determines as an obstacle to study. The Dean of the Faculty of Nursing may request an expert to help conduct further assessment.


 2. ENGLISH PROFICIENCY QUALIFICATIONS 

          2.1) Applicants who are Non-Native English Speakers or from a country where English is not an official language:
Applicants who apply for the Nursing Science program can submit one of the following English Language Certificates with a minimum score of:

  1. IELTS minimum band score of 5.0 or
  2. TOEFL minimum score of 500 PBT or 173 CBT or 61 IBT or
  3. TOEFL ITP Test with a minimum score of 500 PBT from institute/ center accredited by the Institute of International Education (IIE).

Applicants who do not have an English Language Certificate, MUST take the English Placement Test arranged by CMU-ICDI. The English Placement Test will be held on the same day as the examination for specialized subjects. Test fees must be paid with the application fee. 
Applicants who have graduated from an international high school or have graduated from a high school in a country where English is an official language and English is the means of instruction, these applicants do not need to submit an English Language Certificate (e.g. IELTS, TOEFL scores.)

          2.2) Applicants who are Native English Speakers and from a country where English is an official language
All applicants will be exempted from the English Placement Test, but will still be required to take entrance examinations as specified by individual faculties/colleges. 

 3. ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS 

3.1 Students who have graduated from or are studying in M.6 in the Thai educational system, are eligible to apply for intake 4 only, applicants are required to meet the minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) according to their selected program as follows:

3.2 Standard Certifications that are equivalent to Thailand’s High School Diploma

      1. Students who have graduated from an international school in Thailand and have a certificate issued by the Thai Ministry of Education.
      2. Students who have graduated from an overseas institution and have a certificate that is  recognised by the Ministry of Education.
      3. Applicants who have submitted an old GED (tested before May 2017) must pass all 5 subjects. Each subject must be passed with a minimum score of 410 and a minimum total score of 2,250, for a new GED (tested from May 2017 onward) applicants must pass all 4 subjects. Each subject must be passed with a minimum score of 145 per subject.
      4. Applicants who submit IGCSE, General Certificate in Secondary Education (GCSE) or GCE ‘O’ level, who took the test in or before 2016 must have a grade of A* to C in at least 5 subjects or ‘AS’ Level must have a minimum grade of A-E in at least 5 subjects or GCE ‘A’ Level, must have a grade of A* to E in at least 3 subjects. For applicants who took the test from 2017 onward must have a grade of A* to C in at least 5 subjects and ‘AS’ Level must have a minimum grade of A-E in at least 5 subjects or GCE ‘A’ Level, must have a grade of A* to E in at least 3 subjects.
      5. Applicants who submit New Zealand National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) which is under the New Zealand Qualification Authority (NZQA), must have a minimum of 80 credits, which consist of:
          1) Subjects in level 2 or higher, not less than 60 credits.
          2) Subjects in level 1 or higher, not less than 20 credits.
English Speaker of other Languages (ESOL) will be considered as 1 subject, applicants must submit NCEA level 2 certificate, Record of Achievement, Level confirmation letter, list of subjects and number of credits for each subject from the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA).
      6. Applicants who submit International Baccalaureate (IB) Certificate must have IB Diploma, in which the total score from 5 subjects groups plus 1 free elective subject is not less than 24 points and they have passed the Extended Essay (EE), Theory of Knowledge (TOK) and Creativity, Action & Service (CAS) evaluation, in accordance with the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO) criteria and have obtained the minimum grade of 4 in at least 5 non-duplicate subjects or have an IB Diploma Course Results (IBCR) with at least 5 non-duplicate subjects, where the grade of each subject is not less than 2 (equivalent to 60% of GPA or 2 or higher in each subject).
       7. Applicants from the Chinese High School System must have their results in their field of study (Arts / Sciences) for at least 4 semesters, with a minimum average score of 60 out of 100 or 90 out of 150 and the full score for each subject must be shown in the transcript or The National Higher Education Entrance Examination (Gaokao) with minimum score of 500 or above. Note: For the next academic year 2019, applicants who are newly graduated, must submit their Chinese High School results of at least 4 semesters and The National Higher Education Entrance Examination (Gaokao).
       8. Applicants from the Myanmar Matriculation System must have a Matriculation Examination Pass Certificate and “O” Level Pass Certificate or Matriculation Examination Pass Certificate and transcripts of the first academic year in an undergraduate degree or diploma from an acknowledged university.

3.3 Additional Requirements
      3.3.1 Students who have graduated from or are studying in M.6 in the Thai educational system must have Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and English with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 out of 4.00 in each subject and must also submit their National Test score GAT/PAT2 results.
     3.3.2 Students who submit a Standard Certification Equivalency (as per 3.2) must have Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics in their transcript or it is listed in a standards test (e.g. SAT Subject Tests, IGCSE)

3.4 The CMU-ICDI English placement test.

1. Reading: it comprises of 4 Parts. It all together takes 45 minutes (35 points)

2. Listening Comprehension (40 points)

 4. APPLICATION DOCUMENTS 

Applicants must complete the online application form and are required to submit clear and readable scanned documents (each file size not over 1 MB) as follows:

  1. A scanned copy of high school graduation certificate/diploma for Matayom Suksa 6, or Grade 12 or Equivalent, Thai or English, or its foreign equivalent. (If not in English, please submit the original document with an official English translation).
  2. A verification letter of current student status (if studying).
  3. A scanned copy of official high school transcript, Thai or English, or its foreign equivalent.
  4. An Official Certificate of English Language ability (if any).
  5. For Thai citizens: A scanned copy of the Thai National I.D. Card
    For non-Thai citizens: A scanned copy of Passport (recommended for a quick visa process) or a scanned copy of the National I.D. card with official English translation.
  6. Health certificate, Thai or English, issued within the last 6 months.
    Note: Applicants must submit a Health certificate confirming that he/she is in good health, with no visual problems including severe color blindness. Also applicants must self-certify this in their online application that he/she does not have other illnesses, symptoms, or disabilities which would be an obstacle to their study (see item 1.3 above). Once applicants have been accepted into the program, there will be a complete health checkup according to item 1.3 above; applicants will be disqualified if they do not meet any of the health requirements.
  7. 2x2 inches, full-face, formal photograph taken within the last 6 months (in jpg format).

Important Remarks: If any documents submitted are found to be fraudulent, applicants will be automatically disqualified.

    For applicants in Track 2.

    For applicants in Track 1 who do not have an English Language Certificate.
